Every time I wear a piece of jewellery I remind myself how life is too short to wear boring ones. It’s an instant outfit uplifter, immediate mood rejuvenator. My eye like my soul is always searching for a new piece of art, a new designer, a new medium of this art.
In a similar search, Gauri Himatsingka- a jewellery designer and a gemologist based out of kolkata introduced me to her label ‘Gauri’. A range of beautiful delicate accessories handcrafted, designed, and, fabricated using silver and semi precious stones. Her love for stones & gems date back to year 2011, when she launched her label post her specialisation in gemmology from GIA (London & Mumbai).
I was so overwhelmed with the bunch of jewellery I was introduced to that its styling resulted in three different looks. Read between the lines if you may so, and decode the personality using your own imagination.

Hopeless wanderer Dress: Masaba Gupta, Jewellery by Gauri
Urbane Nomad Top:koovs, Jeans:Zara, Jacket: Kazo
The label also excels in revamping your old or damaged jewellery that you don’t wear it anymore.
Working on 3 collections simultaneously, Gauri describes her jewelry as simple and sassy, easy to style for any occasion. Her earrings are a hit with everyone, with the entire collection ranging between Rs2000-4500.
When I heard of stones & gems, I wasn’t honestly expecting it to be quirky or stylish. But expect to get surprised by everything from layered necklaces, chokers, to oversized studs, filigree handcuffs, and pieces inspired by bird & fish motifs assembled on it.
For me Gaurī is clearly the Queen of Gems.
Currently available at Atosa, Mogra, Fuel-Mumbai, Deval-Ahmedabad, and Evoluzione-Delhi & Chennai. You can get more info on her Facebook page.
